TEFLON PLAIN HOSE WITH SS BRAID
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is an engineered fluoropolymer. The ability to resist to chemicals is one of its primary attributes. PTFE hoses offers chemical resistance for majority type of mediums. A broad temperature range of -100°F to 500°F (-73°C to 260°C) make this hose material an apt solution for the majority of fluid and ambient temperature conditions found in industry. The ptfe/Teflon hoses have a non-stick surface which enables self-cleaning. At Indus, we have the facility to crimp either ms or ss fittings to the ptfe hoses based on the customer demands. However, the Teflon hoses are less flexible compared to the ss bellow hoses assemblies. PTFE hoses when overheated, it can release mildly toxic fumes and the abrasion coating on the same is not the best which makes it lesser abrasive resistant. The PTFE hose offers low friction, which minimises pressure drops and avoids build-up of unwanted deposits. They are resistant to moisture inorder to avoid hydrolysis. The applications mainly catered to by PTFE hoses are automobile, steam transfer, refrigeration, pharma, medical and chemical. The hose core is helically convoluted PTFE sintered tube and the reinforcement being single layer of ss304 wire.
